Most mornings, I quickly grab something before heading out the door and eat it at my desk at work. I recently found this recipe for Over Night Oats in a Jar and got really excited. Oatmeal is one of my favorite breakfast meals, but I just CANNOT do the instant packets. Call me a food snob, but I’ve tried almost every brand and flavor out there and they all end up tasting terrible. But now I’ve found a way for old fashioned oats without the time on the stove!
I made a few changes to the Skinny Taste recipe.
- 3/4 cup quick oats
- 3/4 cup almond milk (slightly less for thicker oatmeal)
- 1/3 medium banana, sliced
- 1/2 tbsp Flax
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 tbs. of agave
- pinch cinnamon
- 1 tbsp chopped pecans
Place all the ingredients in a jar, shake, cover and refrigerate overnight. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
I make a few all at once and keep them in the fridge for the week. I’ve also started warming up the jars after they’ve been sitting overnight. The results are delicious and always leave me satisfied at work. If you like oatmeal, give it a shot!
